Aprons and dye-washes only. Nothing hung here changes a measure, a par or a payout. Drams come from set vats, the daily vat lot, or an optional ad.

How the vats work

01Each vat holds a fixed whole number of drams. You only ever read the level by the chalk drawn on the vat.
02Three measures: fill runs the tap to the brim, drain opens the channel to empty, pour tips one vat into another.
03A pour sends as much liquor as the source holds or the receiver can take — whichever runs out first. Volumes never turn into fractions.
04Tip in pour mode: tap the source vat, then tap the vat you are pouring into. Tapping the source again cancels the tip.
05A pour from an empty vat, or into a full one, is refused and costs no move. A dead tip is never charged to you.
06Every chalked vat sitting exactly on its line sets the batch. Unchalked vats are free to sit anywhere.
07Three stars at par, two within two more moves, one within four. Past the last allowance the batch is spoiled — emptying the floor and trying again is free.
08Drams buy aprons on the rack. Nothing sold there changes how a vat measures.
